Mission of the Division of Business

The mission of the Division of Business and Information Technology is to provide a dynamic and innovative learning experience with educational pathways that align with industry partners’ needs. Through these in-demand pathways, BPCC graduates will build a requisite foundation that cultivates critical-thinking, problem-solving, and team collaboration in the workplace environment.

The Louisiana Cyber Education Center (LACEC) was designated in May 2019 by Governor John Bel Edwards to be housed at Bossier Parish Community College.  The LACEC provides in-person, online, noncredit, and industry-driven training statewide for those interested in a career in IT or learning a new skillset. Offerings include a wide range of courses and trainings including hardware support, software support, networking, programming, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, penetration testing, and security. BPCC holds several designations for cybersecurity training and is recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD) and as the Louisiana Center of Workforce Excellence in Cyber Technology. Additionally, the curriculum at BPCC is bolstered by academic partnerships with Cisco, CompTIA, AWS, RedHat, and Microsoft.
