Computer Information Systems, AAS


The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems provides the graduate with the knowledge and applied technical skills needed to enter computer-related occupations in the business/industry job market.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of the Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems will be able to:

  1. accurately read and communicate technical information;
  2. analyze current technology issues;
  3. develop solutions to technology issues;
  4. demonstrate skills for entry-level employment in information technology; and
  5. identify basic business terminology, concepts, and principles.

Required Courses for the Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems:

Freshman Year


Second Semester: 15 Hours


Sophomore Year


First Semester: 15 Hours


Second Semester: 15 Hours


Total Credit Hours: 60


* CTEC Approved Elective may be any CTEC class, except CTEC 100, that is not currently on the curriculum. Recommend taking a combination of electives to obtain additional CTC - CTEC 263  and CTEC 264  (CTC Cloud Computing), CTEC 280   and CTEC 287  (CTC Network Security and CTS Information Systems Security Professionals); CTEC 130  and CTEC 149  (CTC Web Design);  CTEC 270  and any other approved CTEC elective (CTC Data Analytics)

For transfer to a four-year institution, students are strongly advised to take MATH 102  instead of MATH 101 . Students must seek the assistance of their advisor to determine the appropriate mathematics course.
