The Business Office Technology (Accounting) Technical Diploma is a technical degree program that prepares students for administrative assistant careers, such as executive assistant, office manager, and other administrative professional positions but with a focus in accounting. Administrative assistants provide support, organization, and coordination in private companies and nonprofit, education, government, and many other organizations.
Learning Outcomes:
Recipients of the Technical Diploma in Business Office Technology (Accounting) concentration will have demonstrated:
- understand core principles related to financial, managerial, computerized, and payroll accounting.
- utilize the various financial forms needed within an organization.
- learn how to keep accurate accounting records.
- develop skills related to entering and organizing data.
- practice professionalism and soft skills.
Required Course for the Technical Diploma in Business Technology, Accounting Concentration:

First Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Second Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Third Semester: 15 Credit Hours
Total Credit Hours for the Technical Diploma in Business Office Technology (Accounting Concentration): 45
*Students having three or more years of relevant work experience in a business setting or 15 or more hours of business courses may substitute a business elective for BADM 105.
** Any 200 level ACCT, BADM, or HCM course may be used as an elective.

Students must meet prerequisites before taking any given course. Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” in each course required in the curriculum.
Students planning to transfer to another college or university should check with that college or university to determine the transferability of any course taken at BPCC. Not all courses listed on this academic plan will transfer to any other college or university.
