The ECG/Telemetry program provides short term (one semester) training for entry level positions in health care by preparing students to perform non-invasive cardiology tests, ECGs, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition.
Learning Outcomes:
Recipients of the Career and Technical Certificate in ECG/Telemetry will be able to:
A. Interpret patients’ heart rhythms and reports life-threatening arrhythmias.
B. Perform tests such as telemetry, 12 and 15 lead ECG.
C. Communicate successfully with the healthcare team.
D. Demonstrate ability to recognize medical legal and ethical issues.
Specific Requirements:
The ECG/Telemetry Technician Program includes ALHT 112 didactic and laboratory course.
Math and English prerequisites are not required for this program.
