The Associate of Applied Science Business Office Administration degree program with a concentration in Medical Office provides students with a well-rounded selection of business courses that collectively prepare students for qualified entrance into a business role in a medical office.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of the Applied Associate in Business Office Administration (Medical Office) concentration will have demonstrated:

  1. understand standard medical office procedures and management systems.
  2. practice medical coding using the latest ICD software
  3. understand payment systems and reimbursement methodology
  4. create professional documents to be utilized in a medical setting.
  5. practice professionalism and soft skills.

Required courses for a Associate of Applied Science in Business Office Administration, Medical Office Concentration:

Freshman Year


Sophomore Year


First Semester: 15 Hours


Second Semester: 15 Hours


Total Credit Hours: 60


*Any 200 level ACCT, BADM, HCM course may be used as an elective.

**For transfer to four-year institution, students are strongly advised to take MATH 102 instead of MATH 101. Students must seek the assistance of their advisor to determine the appropriate mathematics course.

This degree can be obtained 100% via Internet instruction. Contact your academic advisor for details.

Students must meet prerequisites before enrolling in any given course. Student s must earn a minimum grade of “C” in each course required in the curriculum.

Students planning to transfer to another college or university should check with that college or university to determine the transferability of any course taken at BPCC. Not all courses listed on this academic plan will transfer to any other college or university.
