Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Helper II, CTS (Natchitoches Campus)

The Certificate of Technical Studies in A/C Refrigeration Helper II expands the students knowledge of HVAC refrigeration processes and applications, by providing instruction on safety, electrical fundamentals, electrical fundamentals, diagnostic techniques, and installation procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of a Certificate of Technical Studies in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Helper II will be able to demonstrate:

1. knowledge of the tools, equipment, and facilities necessary to service and maintain domestic and/or residential air conditioning and refrigeration units.
2. various methods of ensuring workplace safety and professional work habits.
3. ability to identify various types of pipes, tubing, and fittings.
4. a knowledge of electrical terms and definitions, use of Ohm’s law mathematical formula, and electrical circuits.
5. troubleshooting techniques to series, parallel and series-parallel circuits on selected ACR equipment.
