The Video Production Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) program prepares graduates to work in a variety of television and film environments. It prepares students with hands-on experience in the area of television and film production.

Learning Outcomes

Recipients of the Certificate of Technical Studies in Video Production will have demonstrated:

skills required for entry-level employment in the fields of television and film; and
skills to comprehend and evaluate information related to the areas of television and film.

First Semester: 12 Hours

COMM 150:Video Production Techniques Credit Hours: 3
COMM 170:Introduction to Mass Media Credit Hours: 3
COMM 202:Video Editing Credit Hours: 3
COMM 102 or COMM 130 Credit Hours: 3

Second Semester: 12 Hours

COMM 281:Documentary Filmmaking Credit Hours: 3
COMM 212 or COMM 213 Credit Hours: 3
COMM 211 or COMM 209 Credit Hours: 3
COMM Elective* Credit Hours: 3

Total Credit Hours for the Certificate of Technical Studies in Video Production: 24
