Scene Design, CTS

The Scene Design Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) program prepares graduates to work in scene design and construction in theatre.  The curriculum provides study and hands-on experience for students interested in employment in the entertainment industry.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of CTS in Scene Design will have demonstrated:

1. comprehension of basic theories, practices, terminology, historical period concerns, and safety concerns used in Scenic Design for theatre;
2. the ability to research and analyze a script for scenic needs;
3. proficiency in drawing plans and constructing sets for a stage production;
4. the ability to design appropriate settings for stage or other applications, integrating scenic design elements with other design areas; and
5. the ability to interview for an entry-level scenic design job in theatre or a related field.
