The Lighting Design Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) program prepares graduates to work as lighting designers in theatre. The curriculum provides study and hands-on experience for students interested in employment in the entertainment industry.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of CTS in Lighting Design will have demonstrated:

comprehension of basic theories, practices, terminology, instruments and hardware, and safety concerns, used in Lighting Design and electrical circuitry for theatre;
the ability to research and analyze a script for lighting needs;
proficiency in hanging, focusing, and running lights for a stage production;
the ability to design appropriate lights for stage or other applications; and
the ability to interview for an entry-level lighting job in theatre or a related field.
