Recipients of the Certificate of Technical Studies in Health Information Technology will be able to:
discuss application of management theory to real world and hypothetical situations;
utilize innovative technologies in the management of information;
investigate, critically analyze, and solve issues relating to the legal and ethical principles of basic healthcare and information technology; and
interpret and convey technical and medical information using written, digital, and oral forms of communication.
Specific Degree Information:
The goal of the Certificate of Technical Studies in Health Information Technology allows students to develop the skills and qualities needed to fulfill the multifaceted role of an information technology specialist in the healthcare field. Students will develop the attitudes and principles which will encourage continuing growth in a profession that is rapidly expanding in scope and the healthcare industry.
