Costume Design, CTS

The Costume Design Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) program prepares graduates to work in the areas of costume design, construction, and theatrical make-up for the theatre.  The curriculum provides study and hands-on experience for students interested in employment in the entertainment industry.

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of CTS in Costume Design will have demonstrated:

1. comprehension of basic theories, practices, terminology, research methods, and techniques used in Costume Design and Construction;
2. the ability to research and analyze a script for costume needs;
3. proficiency in costuming construction and stage makeup application skills;
4. the ability to design and create appropriate costumes for stage or other applications;  and
5. the ability to interview for an entry-level costuming job in theatre or a related field.
