MOS 109:Survey of Medical Coding Credit Hours: 4 Lecture hours per week: 3 Lab hours per week: 3
Prerequisite(s): BLGY 110 , BLGY 120 , CTEC 115 , MOS 107 , and permission of the Division. Overview and basic coding with the latest edition of CPT and HCPCS coding systems used in the coding of procedures in healthcare. Emphasis is on the development of basic skills needed for accurate coding for medical procedures and supplies. This course includes a basic review of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. (Medical Office Specialist majors must take this class concurrently with MOS 110 ). This is an integrated lecture and lab course. (Fall only)
