TEAC 201:Teaching and Learning in Diverse Settings I Credit Hours: 3; 20 hours of required field placement Prerequisite(s): Course Prerequisite: Admission into the AST program This course, the first of a two course sequence, introduces candidates to the field of teaching by focusing on professional responsibilities of educators and the development of elementary school children. Three primary topics will be addressed within the course: Professional Issues for Education Careers, Child Development, and Technology for Teaching and Learning. The course will involve a combination of lecture, group learning, reflection, and site-based experiences within schools.
